Israel Establishes 10 New Military Bases in Syrian Territory
Israeli media reported early Friday that the Israeli military has recently established 10 new military bases inside Syrian territory, as part of ongoing operations in the region.
The construction of these bases comes as a unit of Israeli forces, consisting of three armored vehicles, entered the village of Rakleh in the western suburbs of Damascus, near the Lebanese border, opposite the town of Yammouneh in the Rashaya region. This marks the first operation of its kind in this area.
In addition, Israeli special forces conducted an airborne operation in the Yafur area, approximately 10 kilometers from the Syrian capital, Damascus. The operation targeted a facility belonging to the former Syrian Republican Guard.
The establishment of these new bases and the recent military operations highlight Israel’s continued efforts to maintain a strategic presence in Syrian territory, particularly in areas close to the Lebanese border.
