Taliban Assures Full Amnesty for Returning Migrants

The Taliban government has reaffirmed its general amnesty decree, stating that all returning migrants to Afghanistan are covered and should not fear political or retaliatory actions.

Kokcha News Agency: The Taliban government has emphasized the full implementation of its general amnesty decree, assuring that all migrants returning to Afghanistan are protected under this decree and will not face political persecution or retaliation.

Hamdullah Fitrat, Deputy Spokesperson for the Taliban government, stated that all returning migrants are covered by the amnesty decree and are immune from any political prosecution. He wrote on X (formerly Twitter): “No retaliatory or hostile actions will be taken against returning migrants to Afghanistan.”

Fitrat further stressed, “All returning migrants to Afghanistan benefit from the amnesty decree. No one will hold political grudges, conflicts, or retaliatory actions against them, and if such incidents occur, the government will investigate and prevent them, punishing the perpetrators.”

The statement also dismissed some reported minor and isolated incidents as personal and non-political matters.

The Taliban spokesperson accused international organizations, including the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA), of creating unnecessary concerns through propaganda.

In conclusion, the Taliban government assured migrants that they can return to Afghanistan with “peace of mind” and live in a safe and threat-free environment.
