Taliban Flog Four Individuals in Kabul on Charges of Adultery and Theft
The Taliban’s Supreme Court announced that four individuals were publicly flogged in Kabul’s Char Asyab district on Sunday, August 26, on charges of "extramarital relations and theft."

Kokcha News Agency – The Taliban’s Supreme Court has confirmed that four people were flogged in Char Asyab district of Kabul on charges of adultery and theft.
Three of the convicted individuals were each sentenced to three years in prison, while the fourth received a one-year prison sentence and 39 lashes.
This action comes just one day after Amnesty International called on the Taliban to end corporal punishments. The human rights organization has repeatedly criticized the Taliban’s use of public flogging and other forms of physical punishment, describing them as inhumane and a violation of international human rights standards.
