UNICEF: Skills Training Transforms Lives of Afghan Youth

UNICEF in Afghanistan emphasizes that skills training can change lives, as highlighted by the story of a 28-year-old man from Farah province who now supports his family after receiving motorcycle repair training.

Kokcha News Agency – The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) in Afghanistan has stated that skills training can transform lives. In a press release issued on Sunday (26 Asad), UNICEF shared the story of Qudos, a 28-year-old from Farah province, who had lost hope and was planning to migrate just to survive.

According to the statement, UNICEF, with support from the European Union’s office for Afghanistan, provided Qudos with training in motorcycle repair. He has since opened his own shop and now supports his 15-member family.

It is worth noting that since the Taliban’s takeover of Afghanistan, poverty and unemployment among youth have increased, pushing many young people to consider fleeing the country.
