Children Should Dream of Football, Not Explosions

A child’s dreams should be filled with football, books, and life—not gunpowder, death, and explosions. The Taliban’s exploitation of young lives is a betrayal of the future.

Kokcha News Agency: Every child deserves the chance to dream of a bright future—of scoring goals on the football field, excelling in school, and living a life full of possibilities. But in Afghanistan, the Taliban is robbing children of these dreams, replacing them with nightmares of violence and destruction.

Instead of carrying a football, young boys are being deceived and forced to carry explosive belts. These teenagers, who could one day shine on the football field and bring pride to their nation, are instead being turned into tools of terror. This is not just a tragedy; it is the ultimate betrayal of their potential and their future.

The Taliban’s manipulation of children is a stark reminder of the group’s disregard for human life and its relentless pursuit of power at any cost. By exploiting the innocence and vulnerability of young minds, the Taliban is not only destroying individual lives but also the future of an entire generation.

Children should be in schools, on football fields, and in safe environments where they can grow, learn, and thrive. They should not be forced into a life of violence, fear, and death. The international community must take urgent action to protect these children and ensure that their dreams are not extinguished by the Taliban’s cruelty.
