Afghanistan Freedom Front Marks Fourth Anniversary of Taliban Rule, Vows Continued Resistance
On the fourth anniversary of the Taliban’s illegitimate rule, the Afghanistan Freedom Front (AFF) has released a statement condemning the regime’s oppressive policies, human rights abuses, and economic plunder, while reaffirming its commitment to armed resistance and the restoration of Afghanistan’s rightful destiny.

Kokcha News Agency – The Afghanistan Freedom Front (AFF) has issued a stark assessment of the Taliban’s four-year rule, describing Afghanistan as a nation plunged into darkness, transformed into a hub for international terrorism, and subjected to one of the most difficult chapters in its history.
The AFF highlighted the Taliban’s systematic exclusion of women and girls from work, education, and public life, labeling it a form of gender apartheid. The statement also pointed to widespread ethnic, linguistic, and religious cleansing, as well as the continued persecution of former security and defense personnel. According to AFF findings, 209 former security personnel were executed, assassinated, or disappeared in the past year alone, while 145 others were arrested, tortured, and imprisoned. Since the Taliban’s takeover in 2021, at least 30 women who served in Afghanistan’s defense and security institutions have been killed by Taliban death squads.
The AFF reported that its guerrilla fighters carried out 88 operations against Taliban targets in the past year, resulting in 225 Taliban killed and 174 wounded. The AFF also declared the Taliban’s so-called ‘Vice and Virtue Police’ as legitimate targets due to their role in assaults on women’s dignity and widespread abuses. Since this declaration, 14 enforcers have been killed or wounded across three provinces.
The statement condemned the Taliban’s economic plunder, accusing the regime and its regional partners of exploiting Afghanistan’s natural resources and mines to entrench their rule. Meanwhile, the population faces a deepening economic crisis, with 17 million people unable to meet their basic daily needs. The AFF also criticized the Taliban’s suppression of freedom of expression and independent media, as well as the transformation of schools and universities into centers of indoctrination and extremism.
Despite the Taliban’s oppressive rule, the AFF noted growing signs of public disillusionment and resistance, particularly in the protests of Badakhshan and other provinces. The AFF reaffirmed its commitment to comprehensive resistance aimed at overthrowing the Taliban regime and expressed solidarity with the national liberation movement.
