Russia Sends Second Batch of Humanitarian Aid to Quake-Stricken Afghanistan
Russia has delivered a second batch of humanitarian aid to Afghanistan, providing tents and blankets to those affected by the devastating earthquakes that struck the country’s eastern region late last month.

Kokcha News Agency – Following a series of powerful earthquakes that hit eastern Afghanistan, Russia has sent a second shipment of humanitarian aid to assist the affected population. The Russian Emergency Situations Ministry announced the delivery on Monday, stating that the aid was dispatched on the instructions of President Vladimir Putin.
The shipment, which arrived early Monday, includes more than 20 tons of tents and blankets for those affected by the earthquakes. This follows an initial batch of aid sent last week, which contained 20 tons of food supplies.
Devastation in Afghanistan
The earthquakes, which began on August 31, have caused widespread destruction in Afghanistan’s eastern province of Kunar, killing over 2,200 people and injuring around 4,000 others. Subsequent tremors have further exacerbated the situation, increasing the casualty count and complicating rescue efforts in the remote and mountainous region.
Rescue operations have been ongoing, with many people still believed to be trapped under the rubble of collapsed homes. The earthquakes have left thousands homeless and in urgent need of shelter and basic supplies.
