Kokcha News Agency — Israel’s actions in Gaza have led to multiple international legal cases, including genocide charges at the International Court of Justice (ICJ) and arrest warrants from the International Criminal Court (ICC).
On December 29, South Africa filed a genocide case against Israel at the ICJ, which has since issued three interim measures ordering Israel to halt its military operations in Gaza. Several countries, including Turkey, Colombia, Libya, Mexico, Palestine, Spain, Chile, and the Maldives, have joined the case as intervenors.
Turkey, in particular, has been vocal in its support for Palestine, submitting a comprehensive report documenting Israel’s war crimes in Gaza. President Erdogan reiterated Turkey’s unwavering support for the Palestinian cause, stating, “We stand with our Palestinian brothers and sisters until the end.”
In a separate case, Nicaragua has filed a lawsuit against Germany at the ICJ, accusing it of complicity in Israel’s alleged genocide in Gaza.
Meanwhile, the ICC has issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, accusing them of “causing extermination, preventing humanitarian aid, and deliberately targeting civilians” in Gaza. The warrants restrict Netanyahu and Gallant from traveling to any of the 124 countries that are party to the Rome Statute, as they could face arrest and extradition to The Hague.
