U.S. President Donald Trump announced that "very positive" talks were held over the weekend regarding a ceasefire in Gaza, with discussions progressing rapidly.

Kokcha News Agency: U.S. President Donald Trump revealed that talks over the weekend regarding a ceasefire in Gaza are progressing rapidly, describing the discussions as “very positive.”

In a statement on his social media account, Trump provided details about the ongoing process to establish a ceasefire in Gaza.

The U.S. President stated, “This weekend, very positive talks were held with Hamas and countries from around the world regarding the release of prisoners, ending the war in Gaza, and, more importantly, the long-sought peace in the Middle East.”

Trump noted that the talks are “moving quickly” and that delegations will meet again in Egypt on Monday to finalize the remaining details.

He reminded everyone that the first phase of the ceasefire proposal should be completed this week, urging, “I ask everyone to act quickly.”

Trump also emphasized the long-standing nature of the conflict in the region, stating, “Time is of the essence, or there will be a lot of bloodshed. This is something no one wants to see.”

On October 3, Hamas announced that it had accepted the prisoner exchange in President Trump’s Gaza plan and that other items needed to be negotiated.

Trump responded, “Based on the statement made by Hamas, I believe they are ready for a lasting peace. Israel must immediately stop the bombardment of Gaza so that we can quickly and safely retrieve the prisoners.”
