Over 20,000 Children Killed in Israel’s Two-Year Assault on Gaza

Kokcha News Agency: The Gaza government’s media office has released updated figures on the death toll from Israel’s two-year-long assault on the Gaza Strip, which began on October 7.

The report states that over 20,000 children have been killed, with 19,450 of them being those who were brought to hospitals. The number of women killed, including those trapped under rubble and those missing, has exceeded 12,500. Additionally, 460 people, including 154 children, have died from starvation and malnutrition, while 17 people, including 14 children, have frozen to death due to the cold.

Since October 7, the total number of Palestinians killed has reached 67,139, with the number rising to 76,639 when including those still missing.

Attacks on the Health Sector
According to the report, 1,670 healthcare workers, 140 civil defense personnel, and 254 journalists have been killed in the Israeli attacks. Over 12,000 pregnant women have suffered miscarriages due to food shortages and malnutrition.

Israeli forces have bombed, destroyed, or rendered inoperable 38 hospitals and 96 health centers. Additionally, 197 ambulances and 61 civil defense vehicles have been targeted.

Attacks on the Education System
In the Gaza Strip, 95% of schools have been damaged by bombings. Of these, 668 schools were directly bombed, 165 schools, universities, and educational institutions were completely destroyed, and 392 were partially destroyed. Over 13,500 students, 830 educators, and 193 academics and researchers have been killed in the attacks. As a result, 785,000 students have been deprived of education.

Attacks on Places of Worship
During the assault, 835 mosques were completely destroyed, and 180 mosques were partially damaged. Three churches were targeted multiple times, and 40 out of 60 cemeteries were destroyed.

The Israeli army has also opened seven mass graves inside hospitals, stealing the bodies of 2,450 people.

Destruction of Infrastructure
In the attacks, 268,000 homes were completely destroyed, 153,000 were partially destroyed, and 148,000 were severely damaged, rendering them uninhabitable. As a result, 288,000 Palestinian families have been left homeless.

Additionally, 725 central water wells and 5,080 kilometers of electrical grids have been destroyed.

The assault has also targeted 247 government buildings, 292 facilities, playgrounds, and sports halls, and 208 archaeological and cultural heritage sites.
