Trump Visits Texas Flood Zone, Offers Condolences for at Least 120 Deaths

Kokcha News Agency reports that President Donald Trump, accompanied by his wife Melania, visited Texas on the aftermath of the severe flooding caused by heavy rains on July 4. During his visit, Trump met with families of those who lost loved ones and extended his condolences.

He also held a press conference with Texas officials including Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem and Governor Gregg Abbott to assess the damage firsthand. Trump described the flood as unprecedented, noting, “100-year-old trees have been uprooted. I’ve never seen anything like this before,” clearly surprised by the destruction.

He explained that the riverbed that caused the flooding rose nearly 8 meters in just 45 minutes, unlike any hurricane or tornado he had previously witnessed, emphasizing the extraordinary intensity of the floodwaters.

In a poignant remark, Trump referred to the children who drowned in a student camp during the floods, saying, “They loved God, and as we mourn this unimaginable tragedy, it gives us comfort to know that God’s gentle arms have welcomed these little beautiful girls into heaven.”

Melania Trump also shared her sympathies, stating, “My deepest condolences to all the parents who lost their young children. The American people are mourning with these families and praying for healing.”

This visit highlighted the enormous impact of the natural disaster and the need for ongoing support and recovery efforts in Texas.
