“National Trust Movement” Launched with a Citizen-Centric Approach

A new movement called the "National Trust Movement" has been officially launched in an online meeting, introducing itself as a group committed to national values and interests with a citizen-centric approach.

Kokcha News Agency – A new political movement, the “National Trust Movement,” has been officially launched in an online meeting. The group is composed of figures who describe themselves as committed to national values and interests.

In a statement released on Thursday, the movement outlined its goals, which include replacing personality-driven politics with idea-driven governance, shifting from a subject-oriented approach to a citizen-centric one, delegating local administration to the people, promoting cultural diversity and tolerance, and building an independent and active Afghanistan in international relations rather than structural dependency.

Nizam Shahrani, a university professor and interim head of the National Trust Movement’s leadership council, stated during the meeting that over the past four years of Taliban rule, the people have had no role in the country’s decision-making processes.

Reflecting on Afghanistan’s 150-year history, Shahrani emphasized that most governments have lacked legitimacy, and the people have been deprived of their right to self-determination.

The formation of this movement comes at a time when, in recent years, numerous political groups and parties have emerged outside the country, involving various prominent figures.
