Kokcha News Agency – A collision occurred at Manchester Airport in the UK when two EasyJet planes struck each other’s wings while taxiing. The incident took place around 6:30 AM, according to airport officials, who confirmed that no injuries were reported.
The planes, which were preparing to depart for Paris and Gibraltar, were evacuated, and passengers were safely escorted back to the terminal. Flights were briefly halted for safety checks but resumed after inspections revealed only “minor damage” to the aircraft.
Passenger Describes the Collision
Tynisha Chaudhry, a 21-year-old passenger on the Gibraltar-bound flight, compared the collision to a “car crash,” saying, “The whole plane shook. It was a huge impact.”
Chaudhry noted that multiple fire and security teams were dispatched to the scene and that while some children and families were tense, passengers were later returned to the terminal.
Airline Issues Statement
In a statement, EasyJet confirmed that the wingtips of the two planes had made contact while they were taxiing for takeoff. The airline assured that passengers were provided with meal vouchers and that replacement aircraft would be arranged for their flights.
The airline emphasized, “The safety of our passengers and crew is our highest priority.”
