“Kokcha News Agency” – US President Donald Trump, after his summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Alaska, held a series of phone calls with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and NATO leaders. According to the White House, Trump completed these calls shortly before landing in Washington.
In his conversations, Trump stated that Putin is not interested in a ceasefire but prefers a comprehensive agreement to end the war. “I believe a quick peace deal is better than a ceasefire,” Trump said, as reported by Axios journalist Barak Ravid.
NATO Leaders and Macron Join the Call
European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen’s spokesperson confirmed that Trump briefed European leaders on the summit. NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte and French President Emmanuel Macron also participated in the call.
According to the European Commission, leaders from Germany, Finland, Poland, Italy, and the UK were also involved in the discussions.
Zelenskyy to Visit the US
The phone call between Trump, Zelenskyy, and European leaders lasted over an hour and a half. Zelenskyy announced that he will travel to Washington on Monday for further discussions.
