Man Lives with Knife in Chest for 8 Years After Fight
A man in Tanzania who went to the hospital complaining of pain was found to have been living with a knife in his chest for eight years.

Kokcha News Agency – A man in Tanzania who went to the hospital complaining of chest pain and pus discharge was discovered to have been living with a large knife in his chest for eight years. The 44-year-old patient sought treatment at Muhimbili National Hospital after noticing white pus coming from his right breast for 10 days. An X-ray revealed a large knife lodged in his chest.
Injured in a Fight 8 Years Ago
The man recalled being injured in a fight eight years ago, suffering wounds to his face, back, and chest. At the time, he was only stitched up at a local hospital, which lacked imaging equipment to detect the foreign object in his body. Surprisingly, the knife caused no pain or discomfort for years.
Doctors explained that the knife had entered through the right shoulder blade and remained in the chest without damaging vital organs. The pus was caused by dead tissue that had accumulated around the knife.
The knife was successfully removed in surgery, and the dead tissue was cleaned. The patient spent 24 hours in intensive care and was discharged after 10 days of treatment.
