Aged 9, 11, and 17: Three Sisters Drowned on a Journey of Hope

Kokcha News Agency – Three sisters, aged 9, 11, and 17, lost their lives during a perilous journey from Libya to Italy. According to the German sea rescue organization RESQSHIP, the boat carrying numerous migrants faced severe difficulties in the Mediterranean. The bodies of the three sisters were found inside the “dangerously overcrowded” boat.

Before the rescue ship arrived, the migrant boat was battered by waves reaching up to 1.5 meters. The rescue ship Nadir, operated by the aid organization, saved 65 people, including three pregnant women, children, and a 7-month-old baby. One person fell overboard and was reported missing. The Nadir intercepted the rubber boat after receiving an alert from the rescue hotline Alarm Phone. The boat had departed from Zuwara, Libya, on Friday night.

14 People Taken to Lampedusa Island:
Italian coast guard teams evacuated 14 people (those with health issues and their relatives) to the southern Italian island of Lampedusa yesterday afternoon. Later in the day, the Nadir brought the remaining survivors and the bodies of the three sisters to the island.-
