Afghan deputy PM, Turkmen FM discuss key areas of bilateral cooperation

During the meeting, the two leaders discussed current issues in political, diplomatic, and trade-economic cooperation, according to a statement from the Turkmen Foreign Ministry. Special emphasis was placed on collaboration in key sectors such as energy, transport, and communications.

The discussions centered on the ongoing development of major regional infrastructure projects, including the Turkmenistan–Afghanistan–Pakistan–India (TAPI) gas pipeline, as well as power transmission lines and fiber-optic communication networks along the Turkmenistan–Afghanistan–Pakistan (TAP) route.

The meeting took place on the sidelines of the two-day 17th Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) Summit, which began on Thursday in Baku. The ECO Summit aims to foster economic collaboration among member states, and this bilateral meeting underscores the importance of regional connectivity and economic integration.
