Kokcha News Agency: In a violent attack in the occupied West Bank, two individuals, including a Palestinian-American, were killed by illegal Israeli settlers. The victim, 20-year-old Saifullah Kamel Musallet, was visiting family in the West Bank and was planning to return to Florida this week.
According to CBS News, Musallet was trying to protect his family’s land near the town of Sinjil, close to Ramallah, when he was confronted by illegal settlers. Family members reported that the settlers surrounded Musallet for over three hours, preventing ambulances and medical teams from reaching him.
Musallet’s brother managed to carry him to an ambulance after the attackers dispersed, but he died before reaching the hospital. Mohammed Saber Zaben, the mayor of Al Sharqiya, told CBS that many landowners in the area are Palestinian-Americans, some of whom have faced physical attacks and property damage.
In a separate incident, another Palestinian man was shot and killed by settlers after hours of bleeding, according to the Palestinian Health Ministry.
The U.S. State Department confirmed the death of an American citizen in the West Bank but directed further questions to the Israeli government. The U.S. Embassy in Jerusalem has contacted Israeli authorities for details and provided consular support to the family.
The Israeli military acknowledged reports of a Palestinian civilian’s death and multiple injuries but did not provide further details.
Musallet’s family has called on the U.S. to investigate the incident, stating, “We urge the U.S. State Department to immediately investigate and hold the Israeli settlers accountable for their crimes in killing Saif.”
