Hamas Rejects Netanyahu’s Proposal for Comprehensive Ceasefire and Release of All Captives

Hamas has announced that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu rejected a proposed agreement that called for the release of all captives in one go and a comprehensive ceasefire, according to a statement by Abu Obeida, spokesperson for Hamas’ military wing, the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades.

Kokcha News: Abu Obeida, the spokesperson for Hamas’ military wing, the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, made a statement regarding the ongoing ceasefire negotiations in the Gaza Strip.

He revealed that Hamas had repeatedly proposed an agreement that would see the release of all captives in one go and a comprehensive ceasefire, but Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu rejected the offer.

Obeida emphasized that Hamas would not accept a temporary ceasefire, accusing Israel of being inflexible in the negotiations. He stated, “If Israel withdraws from the current negotiations, we do not promise to reintroduce a partial proposal for the release of 10 captives.”

Obeida also warned that Hamas fighters are prepared for a prolonged war of attrition, saying, “Our fighters are ready to continue a long war of exhaustion.”

The rejection of the proposed agreement by Netanyahu highlights the ongoing deadlock in ceasefire negotiations between Israel and Hamas. The conflict, which has seen numerous rounds of violence, continues to escalate, with both sides showing little willingness to compromise.
