Death Toll from Starvation in Gaza Reaches 115

Hospital sources told Al Jazeera that in Israeli attacks across Gaza, at least 62 people, including 19 who were seeking help, were killed, and two others died from malnutrition.

The Gaza Health Ministry stated on Thursday that since the start of Israel’s war on Gaza in October 2023, at least 115 Palestinians have died from starvation in the besieged enclave. Most of the deaths, which include many children, have occurred in recent weeks.

The deaths from starvation come as countries around the world express outrage and condemnation over Israel’s actions in blocking food and essential supplies from reaching the people of Gaza. Israel imposed a full blockade on Gaza in March and has only allowed minimal aid into the region since late May, leading to a humanitarian crisis and warnings of widespread famine.
