First Gas Flow from Turkey to Syria Begins

Kokcha News Agency reports that Turkey has officially begun supplying natural gas to Syria, marking a significant step in regional energy cooperation.

Energy and Natural Resources Minister Alparslan Bayraktar stated that the project was completed in a record-breaking time to meet Syria’s urgent energy demands.

From the Yavuzlu Measurement Station, Turkey will supply up to 6 million cubic meters of natural gas per day. The gas will be transported to key Syrian cities, including Aleppo and Homs, where it will be used for electricity generation.

Bayraktar emphasized the importance of the project, saying, “There is a significant energy need in Syria. We will carry natural gas to Aleppo and Homs, and this gas will be used for electricity production in Syria.”

This initiative is expected to provide much-needed energy support to Syria, which has been grappling with severe energy shortages amid ongoing conflicts and economic challenges.
