The base’s official Facebook page confirmed the incident, stating that there are casualties, though the exact number of deaths or injuries has not been disclosed.
In a written statement, the base announced, “There is an active armed shooter on the installation. As a result, a portion of the base is closed to entry and exit, and security forces are on the scene.”
The statement also urged personnel near the incident to remain in their current locations, keep doors and windows closed, and follow safety protocols.
