Kokcha News Agency: A bomb threat at the Olympic Gymnastics Arena (KSPO Dome) in eastern Seoul forced the cancellation of a concert by the K-pop group The Boyz. The threat was made via a fax message claiming that a bomb had been placed in the stadium.
The concert, scheduled to begin at 4:00 PM, was postponed as a precautionary measure. Police conducted a thorough search of the venue but found no explosives.
Not the First Threat:
This incident follows a series of similar threats in recent weeks. Earlier, a threat targeting the Shinsegae Shopping Mall in Myeongdong led to the evacuation of 4,000 customers. A middle school student from Jeju Island and a man in his 20s from the southern region of the country were detained in connection with that incident.
Under South Korean law, individuals who make threats targeting an unspecified number of people can face up to five years in prison or fines of up to 20 million won (approximately $14,400).
