Zionist Attack in Gaza Kills 5 Journalists, Including Al Jazeera’s Anas al-Sharif

In a brutal attack on journalists near Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza, Zionist forces killed five reporters, including Al Jazeera’s renowned correspondent Anas al-Sharif, sparking global outrage.

Kokcha News Agency: In a shocking act of violence, Zionist forces targeted a tent housing journalists near Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza, killing five reporters, including Al Jazeera’s Anas al-Sharif, known as the “Voice of Gaza.” The attack has drawn widespread condemnation and renewed concerns about press freedom in conflict zones.

The Israeli army confirmed the attack, claiming that the journalists were “directly targeted” but justified the action by alleging that al-Sharif had ties to Palestinian resistance groups. Al-Sharif, a prominent figure in Gaza’s media landscape, had previously survived an attack on his home, which resulted in the death of his father.

The Al-Shifa Hospital administration reported that seven people were killed in the attack, including the following journalists:

  1. Anas al-Sharif, Al Jazeera correspondent
  2. Mohammed Qureiq, Al Jazeera journalist
  3. Ibrahim Zaher, cameraman
  4. Momen Aliawa, cameraman
  5. Mohammed Noufal, journalist and photo assistant

With these deaths, the number of journalists killed in Gaza since the start of the war on October 7 has risen to 237.

Hamas was quick to condemn the attack, calling it a “barbaric crime that crosses all boundaries of fascism and brutality.” The group warned that targeting journalists is a clear sign of the “complete collapse of international values and laws” and paves the way for even greater atrocities.

Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) also denounced the attack, labeling it a “war crime” and accusing the Zionist regime of being the “most barbaric and criminal army in the world.” PIJ warned that the targeting of journalists, who expose Zionist crimes to the world, is a prelude to further atrocities.

The international community has been urged to take immediate action to hold the Zionist regime accountable for its crimes against journalists and civilians in Gaza. This attack highlights the ongoing dangers faced by journalists in conflict zones and the urgent need for greater protection of press freedom.
