Moon Race Heats Up: What’s in the US Plan to Build a Lunar Base?

As the race to the Moon intensifies between the US, China, and Russia, the US has announced plans to deploy a nuclear reactor on the lunar surface, with Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy stating, “Whoever controls space, controls Earth.”

Kokcha News Agency reports that the US is accelerating its plans to establish a presence on the Moon, with NASA recently announcing its intention to deploy a nuclear reactor on the lunar surface ahead of its geopolitical rivals.

The project not only aims to generate energy but also raises the possibility of creating a “keep-out zone” on the Moon, restricting access to certain areas.

US Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy emphasized the national security implications of the plan, stating, “Space is for peace, but it can also be used for malicious purposes. Whoever controls space, controls Earth.”
