60% of Germans Believe Palestine Should Be Officially Recognized

Kokcha News Agency – According to a survey conducted in Germany, 60% of participants believe that their country should officially recognize the State of Palestine, while 83% support the arms embargo on Israel.

The survey, conducted by German television channel ZDF with 1,370 participants, also found that 76% of voters consider Israel’s attacks on Gaza to be unjust.

Additionally, 83% of respondents support Germany’s decision to halt the export of weapons to Israel that could be used in the Gaza Strip.

While 60% of participants support the official recognition of the State of Palestine, 22% are against it.

Furthermore, 62% of those surveyed believe that Germany should exert more political pressure on Israel.

The Israeli Security Cabinet had recently approved a new plan to occupy the city of Gaza in the northern Gaza Strip.

Following this decision, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz announced that the export of weapons to Israel that could be used in the Gaza Strip had been suspended.
