Kokcha News Agency: Germany has reported a near doubling of Russian espionage and sabotage attempts over the past year, according to MAD President Martina Rosenberg.
Speaking to DPA, Rosenberg highlighted that Russian intelligence agencies are operating with “unprecedented aggression,” infiltrating agents via third countries and employing hybrid tactics like cyberattacks and disinformation.
The escalation coincides with Russia’s withdrawal from a military-technical cooperation pact with Germany on July 18, 2025.
NATO warns that Moscow could launch an attack on Europe within five years, prompting heightened defense preparations across the continent.
MAD is intensifying security checks on military personnel and investigating extremist groups linked to Russian operations.
