Taliban Halts Passport Issuance for Orphans and Banned Individuals

The Taliban’s Passport Directorate has announced the suspension of passport issuance for orphaned children, individuals banned from traveling, and those convicted by the group’s courts.

Kokcha News Agency– The Taliban’s Passport Directorate issued a statement on Saturday (1st Sunbula) declaring that passports will no longer be issued to orphaned children, individuals banned from traveling, and those convicted by the group’s courts.

The statement emphasized that children without legal guardians will not be eligible for passports. Additionally, individuals whose travel bans have been confirmed through the BiF and biometric systems will also be denied passports.

It is worth noting that under most legal systems, crime is considered a personal act, meaning brothers and sons are not held accountable for the crimes of their fathers or brothers.
