Heavy Casualties in Two Separate Traffic Accidents in Badakhshan and Balkh

Taliban officials have reported two separate traffic accidents in the provinces of Badakhshan and Balkh, resulting in six fatalities and nine injuries. The incidents highlight ongoing road safety concerns in Afghanistan.

Kokcha News Agency: Taliban authorities have confirmed two separate traffic accidents in the provinces of Badakhshan and Balkh, which have left six people dead and nine others injured.

In Badakhshan, the Taliban’s security command reported that the accident occurred on Sunday in the Kohistan district, claiming the lives of three people, including a woman, a man, and a child, while five others were injured. The cause of the accident was attributed to poor road conditions.

Simultaneously, another traffic accident took place on the Hairatan-Mazar-e-Sharif route, resulting in three fatalities and four injuries. Further details about this incident have not yet been released.

These accidents come just two days after a traffic incident in Baghlan province left 24 people injured, and last week, a fire and collision involving a 580-bus in Herat province claimed 79 lives.
