Khalilzad Accuses “Afghanistan International” TV of Collaborating with ISI

Kokcha News Agency: Zalmay Khalilzad, the former U.S. Special Representative for Afghanistan, has accused “Afghanistan International” TV of spreading rumors and engaging in anti-Afghanistan and anti-Taliban propaganda. On Monday, September 3, Khalilzad took to X (formerly Twitter) to question whether the television network is financed by Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI).

Khalilzad emphasized that “Afghanistan International” TV has played a role in supporting and lobbying for groups opposed to the Taliban. He also pointed to the network’s strong reaction to his efforts to block the participation of certain Afghans in a meeting that he claims was organized by the ISI in Islamabad.

The meeting, which was scheduled to take place at the end of August, was postponed following widespread backlash and pressure. Khalilzad further fueled the controversy by asking, “Is Afghanistan International just a news outlet, or is it operating under the influence of a specific agenda?”
