Trump Announces U.S. Military Attack on Boat Near Venezuela, Claims Drug Seizure
Former U.S. President Donald Trump has announced that the U.S. military attacked a boat near Venezuela, claiming it was carrying a large quantity of drugs. The operation reportedly resulted in 11 deaths, according to Trump’s social media post.
Kokcha News Agency– In a video posted on his social media accounts, former U.S. President Donald Trump revealed that the U.S. military had carried out an attack on a boat in the southern Caribbean Sea, near Venezuela. Trump claimed that the boat was transporting a significant amount of drugs and was completely destroyed in the operation, resulting in 11 fatalities.
Trump stated that the boat had originated from Venezuela and was allegedly operated by members of a Venezuelan gang known as “Tren de Aragua.” He emphasized that the presence of drugs on the boat was the primary reason for the military strike. U.S. defense officials confirmed the operation, describing it as a “precision strike.”
Marco Rubio, U.S. Secretary of State, labeled the operation as a “deadly blow” and asserted that the goal was to combat widespread drug trafficking and terrorism linked to organized crime. The U.S. Navy has reportedly deployed a large combat group near the coast of Venezuela, including over 4,500 marines, three guided-missile destroyers, a missile cruiser, an attack submarine capable of launching at least 268 Tomahawk cruise missiles, and several amphibious assault ships. Additionally, P-8 reconnaissance aircraft have been stationed in the area to monitor and control drug trafficking routes, according to U.S. officials.
In response, Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro strongly condemned the military buildup, vowing that Venezuela would never surrender to threats. Maduro criticized the U.S. military presence in the region, calling it an act of aggression.
The operation comes amid heightened tensions between the U.S. and Venezuela, with the U.S. government intensifying its efforts to curb drug trafficking and organized crime in the region. The deployment of such a significant military force near Venezuela’s coast has raised concerns about potential escalation in the area.
