Kokcha News Agency: Pakistan’s Second Secretary at the UN in Geneva, Daniyal Hasanin, raised concerns over “terrorist activities” and persistent human rights violations in Afghanistan during a session of the UN Human Rights Council. He emphasized that terrorist activities originating from Afghanistan pose a serious challenge to Pakistan and the region.
Hasanin stated that the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) continues to target civilians in Pakistan, posing a significant threat to the lives of Pakistani citizens. Pakistan has consistently accused the Afghan Taliban of harboring TTP militants. Reports from the UN Security Council have also confirmed this, although the Afghan Taliban have repeatedly denied the allegations.
The Pakistani diplomat also stressed the importance of protecting human rights, particularly the rights of women and girls. He expressed deep concern over the discriminatory deprivation of Afghan women’s access to education and employment. Hasanin added, “Pakistan’s firm stance is rooted in Islamic teachings and international law.”
He urged the Taliban administration to fulfill its international commitments, including the Doha Agreement, and take necessary steps to improve the human rights situation in Afghanistan.
