Kokcha News Agency: During a press conference in Tunisia, Iran’s Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi stated that European countries cannot achieve any goals through threats. He reiterated that the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) is the only official body responsible for examining the nuclear status of countries and that any agreements made by the IAEA take its own considerations into account.
Araghchi expressed surprise at some countries’ objections to the IAEA’s dealings with Iran. He highlighted that during the 12-day conflict, Iran’s nuclear facilities were illegally targeted first by Israel and then by the United States.
“It is natural that when nuclear facilities are attacked, IAEA inspectors cannot carry out their inspections as they did in the past,” Araghchi said. He added that the IAEA has acknowledged that the on-ground realities have changed and that it must operate in Iran under a new framework.
The Foreign Minister concluded by stating that questions regarding Iran’s nuclear program can only be resolved through diplomatic means, not through threats.
