The death toll from Israel’s ongoing attacks on Gaza since October 7, 2023, has risen to 64,871, with 68 more Palestinians killed in the last 24 hours, according to the Gaza Health Ministry.

GAZA (Kokcha.News) — The death toll from Israel’s relentless attacks on the Gaza Strip has reached 64,871, with 68 more Palestinians killed in the last 24 hours, according to the Gaza Health Ministry. The number of injured has also risen to 164,610, as Israel continues its military offensive despite international calls for a ceasefire.

Since October 7, 2023, Israel has intensified its bombardment of Gaza, leading to widespread destruction and a humanitarian crisis. The Health Ministry reported that 12,321 Palestinians have been killed and 52,569 injured since Israel resumed its attacks on March 18, breaking a ceasefire that had been in place since January 19.

In addition to the direct military attacks, systematic violence has been reported at Israeli-U.S.-backed aid distribution points, where 2,494 Palestinians have been killed and over 18,135 injured since May 27. The situation in Gaza remains dire, with thousands still believed to be trapped under rubble and the death toll expected to rise further.

The humanitarian crisis in Gaza has also worsened, with starvation claiming more lives. The death toll from hunger and malnutrition has now reached 422, including 145 children. Since the United Nations-supported Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC) declared famine in Gaza on August 22, 144 people, including 30 children, have died due to starvation and malnutrition. The IPC warned that famine could spread to Deir al-Balah and Khan Younis by the end of September.
