Kokcha News Agency: U.S. President Donald Trump, in a social media post, revealed that former FBI Director James Comey has been indicted on two separate charges. Trump labeled Comey as “one of the worst people the U.S. has ever encountered” and stated that it is time for him to “answer for his crimes against the country.”
U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi also commented on the matter, stating, “No one is above the law. Today’s indictment reflects the Department of Justice’s determination to hold accountable those who mislead the public and abuse their authority.”
According to U.S.-based media outlet Axios, Comey is charged with “lying to Congress” and “obstructing the Russia investigation.” The investigation into Russia’s alleged interference in the 2016 U.S. presidential election, which lasted 2.5 years, did not find sufficient evidence to implicate Trump.
