Colombian President Petro: What’s Happening in Gaza is Genocide

🕊️ Israeli media claims Trump to announce Gaza ceasefire on July 7.

Kokcha News Agency: Colombian President Gustavo Petro, alongside Pink Floyd co-founder Roger Waters, participated in a pro-Palestine, anti-Israel protest in Times Square. Petro stated, “What is happening in Gaza is literally genocide. There is no other way to describe it. The aim is to exterminate the Palestinian people.” He emphasized that the recent U.S. veto at the UN Security Council has crushed all hopes for diplomacy, urging humanity to rise against this injustice, much like it did against the Nazis.

Petro, speaking at the 80th United Nations General Assembly, criticized the U.S. for its veto at the Security Council, saying, “The recent U.S. veto at the UN Security Council has destroyed all hopes for diplomacy. History has shown us that when diplomacy fails, the next step must be taken.” He called for the formation of a global army to protect humanity and liberate Palestine, pledging Colombia’s support.

Addressing U.S. soldiers, Petro said, “Do not point your missiles at humanity, do not bow to Trump, serve humanity. I bow in respect to all North American soldiers who fought and lost their lives against Hitler in Europe. Do not forget the heroism of your grandfathers. Humanity must rise again, just as it did against the Nazis.”

Petro stressed that the situation in Gaza is no longer just an issue for Arab countries or the Palestinian Authority but has become a common cause for all of humanity. “If Palestine is destroyed, humanity will be destroyed. I call on all nations and states to voluntarily form a strong army to protect humanity. Colombia will do its part,” he declared.

Following his speech, Petro was gifted a Palestinian keffiyeh by participants, and some attendees were seen embracing him.
