Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian: Western Delusions About Iran Are Unrealistic

In an interview with Fox News, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian stated that Western delusions about Iran’s nuclear program are unfounded, emphasizing Iran’s readiness for international inspections and its commitment to peaceful nuclear activities under the framework of international law.

Kokcha News Agency: Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, in an interview with Fox News, addressed Western concerns about Iran’s nuclear program, stating that the West’s assumptions are based on unrealistic delusions. He reiterated Iran’s openness to allowing European inspectors to evaluate any facilities suspected of being used for nuclear weapons development.

Pezeshkian emphasized that Iran has no issue with inspections but criticized the West for creating a false narrative. He highlighted the strong unity within Iran, particularly in the wake of the 12-day war, where even those critical of the government rallied to defend the nation’s sovereignty and freedom.

The President also condemned the Israeli regime for its attacks on Iran’s nuclear facilities, which he said violated international law. He pointed out that Israel, which is not a signatory to the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT), possesses a nuclear arsenal yet faces no international scrutiny.

Pezeshkian reiterated Iran’s commitment to peaceful nuclear activities, as outlined by Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei, who has consistently stated that nuclear weapons have no place in Iran’s doctrine. He recalled that Iran had previously adhered to the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), but the U.S. withdrew from the agreement, leading to the collapse of European commitments.

The President expressed Iran’s willingness to engage in dialogue and cooperation within the framework of international law but warned that activating the “snapback” mechanism would only complicate matters and close the door to negotiations.

Pezeshkian also criticized the U.S. for its historical interference in Iran’s internal affairs, including supporting ethnic conflicts and orchestrating coups. He noted that over 20,000 assassinations of Iranian figures were carried out by those seeking to destabilize the country.

In conclusion, Pezeshkian stressed that Iran seeks peaceful relations with its neighbors and has no intention of developing nuclear weapons. He called for justice and humanity in international relations, warning that the ongoing oppression in Gaza, Lebanon, and Palestine fuels regional instability.
