Kokcha News Agency – A recent poll conducted among supporters of Israel’s Likud party, led by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, shows overwhelming support for U.S. President Donald Trump’s ceasefire plan to end the war in Gaza. According to the survey, 83% of Likud voters back Trump’s proposal, with 82% believing that Israel should quickly heed Trump’s call for peace.
The poll, conducted on September 30 and October 1, highlights a significant shift in the attitudes of right-wing Likud voters, who are now advocating for a diplomatic resolution to the conflict. The data indicates broad support for Trump’s initiative, with nearly half (49%) of respondents stating that Israel should show flexibility in negotiations if Hamas requests changes to the agreement.
Researchers note that the results reflect a clear sentiment among Likud voters, who are eager to see Trump’s plan implemented and Israeli captives returned home. The poll underscores a growing desire within Netanyahu’s base to end the war, even if it requires some concessions from Israel.
The findings also reveal a strong endorsement of Trump’s diplomatic efforts, with many Likud voters expressing a willingness to compromise for the sake of peace. This marks a notable departure from the traditionally hawkish stance of the Likud electorate, suggesting a potential shift in public opinion within Israel’s right-wing political sphere.
