Following the announcement by the Israeli army that the ceasefire would take effect at 12:00 local time, thousands of Palestinians who were forced to flee to the southern Gaza Strip are now returning to their homes in Gaza City.
Palestinians are using Rashid Street, which connects the central and southern regions of Gaza to the north, to make their way back.
The Israeli army announced the ceasefire after an agreement was reached in Egypt. In a written statement, the army confirmed that the partial withdrawal of Israeli soldiers to the so-called “yellow line” positions had been completed.
