Hamas Statement on the First Anniversary of the Martyrdom of Yahya Al-Sinwar

On the first anniversary of the martyrdom of Yahya Al-Sinwar, the commander of Hamas' Al-Qassam Brigades, Hamas released a statement vowing that the "flames of the Al-Aqsa Storm" will never be extinguished. The statement emphasized that the blood of their martyred leaders will continue to inspire future generations in the path of resistance until the liberation of Palestine and its holy sites.

In a statement issued on Thursday, Hamas commemorated the first anniversary of the martyrdom of Yahya Al-Sinwar, also known as “Abu Ibrahim,” who was a key leader in the Al-Qassam Brigades. The statement highlighted his unwavering commitment to the resistance and his heroic stance against the Israeli occupation.

Hamas described Al-Sinwar as a “hero of the Al-Aqsa Storm,” who never turned his back on the battlefield and stood firm against the brutality and crimes of the occupiers. The statement praised his life of jihad and sacrifice, noting that he spent 23 years in Israeli prisons, where he remained steadfast in his resistance.

The statement also reflected on the past year, during which the Palestinian people, through patience, resilience, and determination, achieved a national agreement that thwarted the occupiers’ plans to invade their land. This agreement, according to Hamas, marked the end of the aggression, genocide, starvation, displacement, and ethnic cleansing perpetrated by Israel.

Hamas emphasized that the “Flames of the Al-Aqsa Storm” will remain burning, and the Palestinian people will continue to uphold the principles of unity and national rights. The movement vowed to remain loyal to the blood of their martyred leaders, ensuring that the flag of resistance will never fall and will continue to fly until the full liberation of Palestine and the establishment of a sovereign Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital.

In a direct address to Al-Sinwar, Hamas stated, “Rest in peace, for you have fulfilled your duty. You fought to bring down the enemy’s flag, shatter its authority, humiliate its leaders, and shake the foundations of its existence. Although your pure body has left the land of Gaza, your spirit in the heavens assures the world that the blood of the martyrs will bring eternal glory to Palestine and its people.”

The statement concluded with a prayer for Al-Sinwar and all the martyrs of the resistance, asking God to grant them a place in paradise alongside the prophets, the truthful, the martyrs, and the righteous.
