Kokcha News Agency – The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) announced that it has bombed more than 5,000 targets in Iran over the past 10 days, focusing on “points that posed an immediate threat” to US forces and interests.

According to CENTCOM’s official statement on the social media platform X, the extensive air campaign destroyed or damaged 50 Iranian naval vessels and targeted a comprehensive list of military installations. These included Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Navy headquarters, command and control centers, intelligence facilities, ballistic missile sites, drone manufacturing plants, anti-ship missile positions, and air defense systems.

The US deployed an overwhelming arsenal in the operation, including B-1, B-2, and B-52 strategic bombers, F-16, F-18, F-22, and F-35 fighter jets, MQ-9 Reaper drones, Patriot and THAAD air defense systems, nuclear-powered aircraft carriers, missile destroyers, and HIMARS rocket systems. Electronic warfare aircraft, reconnaissance planes, and tanker aircraft also supported the missions.

The simultaneous strikes occurred against the backdrop of ongoing Tehran-Washington negotiations. However, diplomatic efforts failed to prevent the escalation. Iranian media reported that on February 28, a US-Israeli attack on the Shajarat al-Tayyibah girls’ school in Minab, Hormozgan province, killed more than 165 students.

In a significant development, Iranian officials confirmed that Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and several high-ranking government and military officials were killed in the attacks. The total death toll has officially reached 1,332, with 206 women and children among the dead. The youngest victim was an 8-month-old girl, and the youngest injured survivor is a 4-month-old infant.

The health sector has also suffered devastating losses: 52 health centers, 29 treatment facilities, 19 emergency units, and 16 ambulances were attacked. Four ambulances and one emergency helicopter were completely destroyed, and 11 healthcare workers lost their lives.

In retaliation, Iran has launched strikes against US bases in Qatar, the UAE, and Bahrain, as well as Israeli targets, signaling a dangerous expansion of the conflict across the region.
