US-Israeli Strikes Knock Out Power in Tehran, Restored Within Hours

KABUL (Kokcha.News) — The United States and Israel launched fresh overnight strikes on Iran, targeting the country’s power grid infrastructure and causing temporary blackouts in the capital Tehran and neighboring Alborz province, according to Iranian media reports.

Fars News Agency reported that during the overnight attacks by the US and Israel, the electricity network was specifically targeted. The report stated: “Following the damage inflicted on power grid facilities as a result of enemy attacks, electricity that had been cut off in some areas of Tehran and Alborz province was restored in less than two hours.”

Social media platforms were flooded with images and videos showing blue flashes of light in the sky following the explosions, a phenomenon often associated with electrical grid disruptions or transformer explosions.

The power outages, though brief, highlight the expanding scope of the US-Israeli military campaign against Iranian infrastructure. Previous strikes have targeted military installations, missile facilities, and drone manufacturing plants across the country.

This latest round of attacks comes amid escalating regional tensions and follows the massive 10-day bombing campaign that reportedly resulted in the death of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and more than 1,300 Iranians, including 165 schoolgirls in Minab.

Iranian authorities have not yet released an official statement regarding the extent of damage to the power grid or whether additional areas were affected by the blackouts. However, the rapid restoration of power suggests that damage was limited or that backup systems were quickly activated.
