Kokche News Agency reports that, according to Taliban officials, the recent surge in Afghan returnees has prompted urgent measures for crisis management at the Islamqal’a border.

These measures include facilitating the acceptance process and providing immediate services to returning refugees. The Taliban emphasise that over 30 million Afghani has been allocated in cash aid alongside food, transportation, and other essential support.

However, returning migrants continue to complain about overcrowding at the border and a lack of sufficient facilities, which hampers their smooth transit and arrival.

This situation has been exacerbated by the recent intensification of returns following the conflict between Iran and Israel, which led Iran to increase deportations of Afghan migrants without documents back to Afghanistan.

The Taliban claim they are taking extraordinary steps to manage the increasing number of returnees and ensure immediate aid, but the challenges at the border remain serious.
