Yemen’s Houthi rebels have launched a new missile attack on Israel, targeting Ben Gurion Airport near Tel Aviv. In a statement, Houthi military spokesperson Yahya Saree confirmed that the Yemeni Armed Forces’ missile unit carried out a “qualitative military operation” using a “Palestine-2” hypersonic ballistic missile.
Saree described the attack as “support for the oppressed Palestinian people and their resistance” and a “response to the Israeli army’s genocidal crimes against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.” He emphasized that the Houthis will continue their support operations until Israeli attacks on Gaza cease and the blockade is lifted.
Saree also stated that the group is “prepared and on high alert for any developments in the coming days.”
Sirens Sound Across Israel
The Israeli military confirmed that its air defense systems intercepted a missile launched from Yemen early this morning, triggering air raid sirens across multiple regions of the country.
Ongoing Conflict
Since October 7, 2023, Israel has been waging a genocidal war in Gaza, employing tactics such as killing, starvation, destruction, and forced displacement. Despite international calls and rulings from the International Court of Justice to halt these actions, Israel continues its aggression.
The Houthis have vowed to persist in their military operations in support of Gaza until Israel ends its attacks.
