Israel Kills 17,315 Palestinian Students in Gaza and West Bank Since October 7, 2023

Since Israel launched its violent attacks on the Gaza Strip, 17,315 Palestinian students have been killed, and 27,191 injured in Gaza and the occupied West Bank, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Education and Higher Education.

Kokcha News Agency: The Palestinian Ministry of Education and Higher Education has announced that since Israel began its violent attacks on the Gaza Strip on October 7, 2023, a total of 17,315 Palestinian students have been killed, and 27,191 have been injured in Gaza and the occupied West Bank.

In Gaza alone, 17,175 students have lost their lives, and 26,264 have been injured during this period. In the occupied West Bank, 140 Palestinian students have been killed, 927 injured, and 768 detained by Israeli forces.

The ministry also reported that 928 educators have been killed, and 4,452 injured in Gaza, while 199 educators have been detained in the West Bank.

The attacks have caused severe damage to educational infrastructure. In Gaza, 252 public schools have been significantly damaged, with more than 118 completely destroyed. Additionally, 91 schools have been bombed and destroyed, including 91 schools operated by the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA).

Israeli forces have also completely destroyed 60 university buildings in Gaza. In the West Bank, 152 schools and 8 university buildings have been damaged during Israeli raids, with walls of some schools in Jenin, Tulkarm, Salfit, and Tubas being demolished.

Due to the escalating Israeli aggression in the West Bank, universities have shifted to online education. Furthermore, 25 schools in the region have been completely removed from the educational registry, along with their students and teachers.
