Kokcha News Agency: The International Deep Space Exploration Alliance (IDSEA), an international academic organization dedicated to deep space research, has officially launched its operations in Hefei, Anhui Province, China.
According to Xinhua News Agency, the IDSEA was jointly initiated by the Deep Space Exploration Laboratory in Hefei, the China National Space Administration (CNSA) Lunar Exploration and Space Program Center, the Chinese Society of Astronautics, the Chinese Society of Space Research, and the French initiative “Planetary Exploration, Horizon 2061.” The establishment of the alliance was supported by 31 international scientists and 20 Chinese academics.
Wu Weiren, the chief designer of China’s lunar exploration program and an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, was elected as the president of the IDSEA. Wu emphasized that the establishment of the alliance is of great significance for international exchange and cooperation in China’s space program and represents a crucial step toward collaborative development within the global space community.
FOCUS ON ASTEROID DEFENSE AND MORE
Wu stated that the alliance will focus on areas such as lunar exploration, planetary exploration, and asteroid defense. The IDSEA will conduct research on trends in international deep space exploration, host international academic events, participate in the formulation of standards and regulations related to outer space, and promote the peaceful and sustainable use of outer space.
Wu also invited scientists and engineers worldwide to join the alliance and contribute to the global exploration of the universe.
