Kokcha News Agency reports that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu issued a stark warning regarding the ongoing Gaza ceasefire negotiations. In a video message shared on his X account (formerly Twitter), Netanyahu emphasized that Israel intends to resume military operations if Hamas does not relinquish its weapons or leave Gaza during the 60-day ceasefire period.
He explained that Israel is working to secure the release of half of the detained and deceased Israeli hostages in exchange for a temporary halt to hostilities. However, Netanyahu warned that: “The war will only end if Hamas disarms and evacuates Gaza. If Hamas continues to hold weapons and refuses to leave within the 60 days, we will return to attack.”
**Gaza Ceasefire Negotiations**
U.S. President Donald Trump previously announced that the U.S. accepts Israel’s conditions for a ceasefire in Gaza. He also stated that Qatar and Egypt, acting as mediators, would present Hamas with an “ultimate offer.” Hamas has expressed its willingness to engage in negotiations, confirming they presented a “positive response” to mediator proposals and are prepared to negotiate a ceasefire and prisoner exchange deal.
However, Israel rejected Hamas’s proposed modifications to the Qatar-mediated plan, deeming them unacceptable. Nonetheless, Israeli representatives traveled to Doha to continue negotiations. Although many disagreements were reportedly resolved, Israel remains firm on maintaining control of the Morag corridor—an area separating southern Gaza towns of Rafah and Khan Yunis—refusing to lift the occupation there.
The ongoing talks highlight the fragile state of ceasefire efforts, with key issues like weapons disarmament, prisoner swaps, and territorial control still unresolved amid escalating tensions.
