Pakistani and Iranian Diplomats Hold Virtual Meeting on Afghanistan and Regional Cooperation

Kokcha News Agency reports that Mohammad Sadiq, Pakistan’s Special Representative for Afghanistan, and Muhammad Raza Bahrami, Iran’s Foreign Ministry Director of South Asia Department, convened a virtual meeting focused on regional engagement. The meeting aimed to strengthen collaboration between the two neighboring countries particularly in relation to Afghanistan’s current situation.

Sadiq described the talks as “productive” in a post on X, noting that both sides expressed shared concerns over terrorism as a major mutual challenge. They explored avenues for increased bilateral and multilateral cooperation, emphasizing the importance of coordinated efforts to bring stability to Afghanistan and the wider region.

The meeting reflects ongoing diplomatic efforts by Iran and Pakistan to manage regional security issues, coordinate policies on Afghanistan, and foster mutual stability amid ongoing regional challenges.
