Pakistan’s Foreign Minister to Taliban: Hand Over TTP Members or Relocate Them to Northern Afghanistan

Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Ishaq Dar, has demanded that the Taliban either hand over members of the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) or relocate them to northern Afghanistan to prevent cross-border threats against Pakistan and China.

Kokcha News Agency – During a press conference on Friday, Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Ishaq Dar, emphasized that the Taliban are obligated to either hand over members of the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) or relocate them to northern Afghanistan to prevent cross-border threats against Pakistan and China.

Responding to a question about recent attacks in Khost and Nangarhar provinces, Dar stated, “I have just arrived. These issues arise, letters are sent, and ambassadors are summoned. This is a routine matter, and I am aware of the summoning of our ambassador in Kabul.”

The Foreign Minister added that the Taliban have integrated hundreds of TTP supporters into their governance structure, but Pakistan’s demand is clear: hand over or relocate these individuals.

During his recent visit to Kabul, Dar, along with his Chinese counterpart, urged the Taliban to keep armed groups like the TTP and the East Turkestan Movement away from border areas and prevent them from using Afghan soil for terrorist operations.

Meanwhile, the Taliban’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has confirmed that it summoned Pakistan’s ambassador to Kabul in response to Pakistani military attacks on Khost and Nangarhar, delivering a protest note.

The Ministry stated that Pakistani military forces conducted airstrikes on parts of Khost and Nangarhar, resulting in the deaths of three civilians and injuries to seven others.

The Taliban have condemned these attacks as a violation of Afghan airspace and “a blatant breach of Afghanistan’s territorial integrity and a provocative act.”

Pakistan has consistently expressed concern over the presence of the TTP in Afghanistan and has called on the Taliban to take action against the group.
