Trade Tensions Escalate Between Europe and the U.S.
U.S. President Donald Trump has announced a 30% tariff on European goods, warning that the tariffs will increase if Europe retaliates, as the EU prepares its own countermeasures.

Kokcha News Agency: Trade tensions between the United States and the European Union have escalated after President Donald Trump announced the imposition of a 30% tariff on European goods. Trump warned that if Europe responds with similar measures, the tariffs will be further increased.
In response, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen stated that the U.S. has sent an official letter indicating that it will take trade actions if no agreement is reached. The EU has prepared two packages of retaliatory measures and has temporarily suspended their implementation until August 1. However, the EU is actively preparing to enforce these measures immediately if necessary.
Von der Leyen emphasized that the EU is ready to protect its interests and will not hesitate to take proportional retaliatory actions if the U.S. proceeds with its tariffs. The situation highlights the growing rift in transatlantic trade relations, with both sides preparing for a potential trade war.
